Book Review - Mind Dimensions Omnibus

*I received a free copy of this product in exchange for my honest opinion.* Let's start with some background on the books shall we?
-----------------------
Mind Dimensions Omnibus Author - Dima Zales All 5 books in the popular Mind Dimensions series from a New York Times bestselling author, available for the first time in one convenient, discounted omnibus edition. Over 1500 pages of thrilling action, adventure, and unique mind powers.

The Thought Readers (Mind Dimensions Book 1)
Darren's had it easy his whole life. Finishing Harvard at eighteen, a lucrative job on Wall Street at twenty-one—all things are possible when you can cheat by stepping outside time. Thanks to his ability, he's a know-it-all, but what he doesn't know is how he's able to do what he does. That is, until he meets Mira and discovers her dangerous, hidden world.

The Time Stopper (A Mind Dimensions Story Prequel)
Mira can stop time, but she can't change anything. After her parents are murdered, she'll do anything to get revenge—even take on the Russian mob.

The Thought Pushers (Mind Dimensions Book 2)
Darren’s life turned upside down when he met Mira. Now, as he races to uncover his own identity, he confronts new enemies—and realizes his unique powers might extend further than he ever imagined.

The Enlightened (Mind Dimensions Book 3)
Kidnapped, consciousness expanded—and that’s just the start of Darren’s day. As a new danger comes to light, he has one chance to save a loved one’s life and avenge the wrongs of decades past. Some crimes can never be forgiven.

The Elders (Mind Dimensions Book 4)
Darren’s new powers are unpredictable, but they’re precisely what he needs to save everyone he loves. The Elders can teach him what he needs to know, but their help comes at a price. Ultimately, Darren has to make a choice. What is he willing to sacrifice for those he loves?
-----------------------

All in all I would say that this series is a nice, easy weekend read. Great for the beach or a short road trip. There is nothing new or surprising as far as being able to stop time goes, no "new science" so to speak. That doesn't make it a bad story though! I felt very comfortable in the world that Zales created for us. I really enjoyed being able to just hop from one book right into the next one without having to stop and order the next one in the series. I was satisfied with the character development as well as the story arch but it is not a heavy complicated read like say Game of Thrones. I would reccomend this book for anyone who enjoys series books as well as light Scifi Lit and is looking for an easy read. You can purchase the E-Book on Amazon.

Rodan + Fields Skincare: Review and Giveaway!

First of all, let me say that I am not big into skin care. I know I should be since I'm in my 30s and all but I'm not. I have my normal routine of moisturizer and eye cream and I have some serum or something I use before that but I am lucky if I remember to do this once a week let alone every night. Admit it, there are quite a few of you out there who are just like me. You CARE about your skin but you just don't make it a priorty. Maybe it's starting to feel worn, maybe it's lost that dewy glow from your youth... whatever it is, you're noticing the change and you want it to stop.
A friend of mine offered to let me try a mini facial from Rodan + Fields. At fist I was totally skeptical and I honestly tucked it in my bathroom cabinet and forgot about it. Then she asked if I wanted to do a giveaway on my blog and as you all know, I don't give away or review products that I haven't tried myself. The thing is though, I didn't want to deprive YOU guys the chance to try it for yourselves so this week I set time aside to do it.

WOW. First of all, I didn't NEED to set time aside. It's super quick and easy. The Micro Dermabrasion paste was LIFE CHANGING. I cannot for the life of me remember when my face last felt this soft. I had a professional facial done by the people at Dior a few years ago and while it was awesome, it was not as drastic as this was. It felt great and it smells amazing. I used the lip serum and the face serum afterwards as instructed and oh my gosh!! You guys are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It's crazy because like I said, I was skeptical and figured my review would be more, "It's nice, you should try it and decide for yourself" but instead my review is WOW WOW WOW TRY THIS NOW!!! LIFE CHANGING!!!!!!

SO! How do you get to try a minifacial of your own?? It's simple:
Win one of 5 mini facial sets from Rodan + Fields skincare.
This amazing skincare line was developed by the same dermatologists that created ProActive!

a Rafflecopter giveaway Visit https://mbfebs.myrandf.com/Pages/OurProducts/GetAdvice/SolutionsTool to get a free personalized skincare solution!

Winners will be announced on October 1st!

To make this even better, MB is giving my readers their choice of free make-up wipes, spf body cream or sunless tanning foam with an $80+ preferred customer purchase when you mention From Lazy to Lady!

Just incase you're feeling insecure about some of the questions, my biggest facial skin scare concern is blackheads and giant pores of doom. Just one use of the micro dermabrassion paste and I had noticiably less blackheads which made my pores look smaller too.

Good Luck! Comment to let me know you entered!

FLYing Again

I disappeared again. If you know me in real life, you know I do this. It's not something I control, I never know it's happening while it's happening.
I have really been struggling through the past few years to maintain some kind of tangible sanity. The last few months specifically I fought a depressive episode with every cell of my being. There were days that I honestly didn't think I would make it.
Thankfully I have a support system in place and when I hit rock bottom I was given the support to do what needed to be done to get myself back.
I quit my full time job. It had to be done. When you start to casually think that getting hit by a bus as you cross the street wouldn't be so bad because at least you wouldn't  have to go to work, it's a pretty good sign that the job you're going to might not be the best job for you.
All of the pixie dust in the world couldn't change just how NOT okay I was.
My husband fully supports my desire to focus solely on my travel business full time. This will give me the ability to work from home, or from wherever I happen to be. It allows me quality time with my husband and the rest of my family and that connection is something I desperately need right now.
My anxiety has gone from severe to mild almost immediately. I was getting sick every day, taking xanax 3 times a day just to get out of and stay out of bed. All I did was sleep and work and in between I was miserable.
I have taken xanax twice since July 25th. One was when my brother called and said my dad had a heart attack and the other was after witnessing a teenage girl get mugged right outside my apartment window. Talk about a change of life!!
It's time to take back my life. I am diving head first into the Fly Lady program again. So far, so good.
My sink is shiny and bright , and so is my future.

Last Chance for Legacy Status for Jeff Galloway Half Marathon or 5K

LAST CHANCE!
2014 Virtual
13.1 Half Marathon and 5K (Inaugural)
Last chance to become a "Legacy" participant!
Closes March 1, 2015.

...……...........................................

Training Tips:

When a runner takes walk breaks early and often enough for the individual the muscles are strong to the end.  See RUN WALK RUN atwww.jeffgalloway.com for recommendations by pace per mile.

The "exhaustion wall" can be avoided by running longer long runs up to or beyond race distance-using the appropriate run-walk-run strategy.

Marathoners tend to improve time by an average of more than 15 minutes when they increase their longest run from 20 miles to 26 miles.

To recover fast, run the long runs at least 2 min/mi slower than you could currently run in a marathon

The right run-walk-run strategy from the beginning of each run, gives any runner control over fatigue, injury-elimination, and recovery.

In numerous surveys, runners improved over 13 minutes when they shifted from running continuously to use of the right run-walk-run strategy.

Big News! - Training and Motivation Tips by Olympian Jeff Galloway

Oh my gosh you guys! Remember the other day when I posted about getting to meet Jeff Galloway and how much he has influenced me the past year? Well I just found out that I have been selected to participate in his official blogger progam!
Be sure to check in for training and motivational tips from Jeff himself!

Official Tips from Jeff Galloway:
When paced correctly, running delivers the best attitude boost you can get. Sustain this by pacing yourself gently during the first mile or three.

A well-paced run enhances vitality for the rest of the day.  Start each run at least 30 seconds a mile slower than you will run at the end.

If you have a Run Walk Run strategy that is right for you on that day, it's possible to feel good after every run-even the marathon.

Running is the best stress reliever I've found. Research shows that running tends to activate the conscious brain which over-rides the emotional subconscious brain and manages the negative and anxiety hormones during and after the run.

Research shows that as runners get faster, their stride length shortens.  A quicker cadence is the mechanical key to faster running.

The finishing of a run that is longer than you've run in the last 3 weeks can bestow a sense of achievement that is unique and empowering-due to positive brain circuits that are turned on.

You can't run a long run too slowly or take too many walk breaks.  You'll get the same endurance based upon the distance covered.
