Okay, so honestly today wasn't really that bad.
I went to bed last night some time after 3am. I spent HOURS digging my way out of the tshirt jungle and it was totally worth it at the time. However when the alarm went off (or rather, when the dog licked my face to wake me up in time to shut the alarm off before it drove me mad) I realized what a bad idea it had been to stay up so late. I was exhausted. Add to that the fact that all of the trees are blooming and the yellow bushes of doom (seem below) are EVERYWHERE my allergies are trying to kill me.
I took some meds, drank some pepsi and carried on. The weather was gorgeous so I was in pretty good spirits aside from the sneezing.
The workday was different for me today. Every monday for the next 6 weeks or so I will be teaching to classes at a local rec center. I work for a children's educational entertainment company and this is one of the after school programs we do.
I didn't get done till 6:30, didn't get home till after 8 b/c we stopped for dinner.

I am exhausted and my pillow is calling my name. Alas, my cranberries on farmville are 98% grown and if I go to bed now they will sure expire before I can harvest them.

How was your Monday?

Ridiculous? I think so.

Today was not as productive as I would have liked it to be. It was a lazy Sunday for the most part.

I did get some errands in though... an unplanned trip to Walmart thanks to my hubby being so sick that he actually went to the doctor for the first time in over 5 years, and needing immediate antibiotics.

We do not have insurance, but we make too much monthly to qualify for any sort of assistance program. (which is a joke, how people survive making what you need to make to qualify baffles me)
Anyway, because of this, I always call around to find the best price for any medication we need to get.
Usually we luck out and my meds are $4 at Walmart. Well, not this time. Apparently the generic form of Augmentin is not part of Walmart's $4 plan.

They charge $59.99 for 20 pills. WOAH. So I decide to call around...













Walgreens charges $84.99

Are you kidding me? It seems a bit ridiculous that medication is this expensive to begin with. The fact that some locations charge almost double what another location charges just blows my mind. I could almost understand if we were talking about small "Mom & Pop" type stores that don't order in large quantities, but these are huge major pharmacy companies.

I'm usually not one for government involvement but I really feel like it's time these companies had their prices regulated. The cost is high, but the fact that some places are charging almost double for the same "LIFE SAVING" products feels like robbery.

What's your take on the situation? Have you ever run into this issue? Do you have any ideas on how we can stop companies from doing this? I'd love to hear from you.
